The Sta. Elena Guesthouse is a relaxing place to stay just a stone’s throw away from Metro Manila.
For my dad’s 65th birthday, my family decided to spend it at the Sta. Elena Guesthouse located in Barrio Malilit in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. We actually just wanted to check out the place to see if it will be a good venue for my mom’s side of the family to spend this year’s Christmas celebration. And it didn’t disappoint. It’s a great place to go to if you want a staycation. And I must say that we had a wonderful and relaxing time at the place, just enjoying nature and each other’s company.
As I’ve said, The Sta. Elena Guesthouse is very near Metro Manila. It’s located within the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estates just a few meters after you take the Cabuyao Exit at SLEX. Make sure to make prior bookings or arrangement before you visit the place. My sister told me they don’t accept walk-ins.
The Sta. Elena Guesthouse is located just behind the Sta. Elena Golf Club. It’s not a gated place but the foliage in the area somehow makes the house looks private. There’s a lake at the front of the house and the view is just breathtaking.
The house is really spacious. It has a big living room with a cable TV and the dining and kitchenette area is just adjacent to it. I’m not really sure though if you can cook your own food here because their kitchenette only has a ref, an oven toaster and a microwave oven.
But they do have a “dirty kitchen” just outside. If you decide to stay here, just check with the reservation officer if they allow cooking of food. We just bought our dinner from Shakey’s which is located just outside the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estate Entrance. Or you can just order food from the Golf Club, but I think it’s too pricey.
We were also allowed to bring in some food. I think they’re just strict with corkage if you’re bringing in catered food, most especially if you’re going to have an event at the Guesthouse. They also provide plates, cups, spoons, forks and even drinking water.
The Guesthouse also offers free Wi-Fi internet. But you can only access it when you’re inside the house.
The Guesthouse has four rooms. And you need to book a minimum of 2 rooms to be able to avail of their overnight stay. Each room has its own cable TV, aircon, toilet and hot and cold shower. Three of the rooms have 2 single beds while the master bedroom is a bit more spacious and has one big bed.
Things to Do at the Sta. Elena Guesthouse
The Sta. Elena Guesthouse is like a homey hotel. It’s staycation at its finest because you get to enjoy the privacy and exclusivity that you don’t get in a regular hotel. Aside from just relaxing and enjoying nature, there are a lot of things that you can actually do here.
The Guesthouse has an infinity pool which you can also use. My son had a wonderful time swimming here. The water was just the perfect temperature if you want to cool down. Since the pool is surrounded by trees, dried leaves usually fall down on the water but we don’t mind.
Lawn Games and Activities
What we liked about this place is its spacious lawn. It’s great if you want to play some games or have a picnic. Kids will definitely enjoy running around the area and exploring the different plants and trees. You can even just lounge around and do some bird watching.
The Guesthouse is also open to hosting events like weddings, birthdays, and photo shoots. But the rate is different so make sure to clear it with the reservations first.
Visit the Fun Farm
Sta. Elena is all about nature. And their Fun Farm is great way to experience this. Kids and adults can enjoy this outdoor natural playground, interact and feed farm animals, ride the horses and a carabao pulled-cart, ride a boat, and use their adventure course (mini zip-line, rope and obstacle course).
The Fun Farm ticket is priced at Php400.00 for children and adults. They also offer a discounted rate of Php320.00 for Senior Citizens and PWDs. Although we didn’t get to go here, we’ll make sure to visit next time. They also don’t allow walk-ins so make sure to book before you visit.
How Much Does It Cost to Stay at the Sta. Elena Guesthouse?
An overnight stay at the Sta. Elena Guesthouse costs only Php3000 per room on weekdays and Php5000 per room during weekends. Also, you need to get a minimum of two rooms to book an overnight stay. Check-in is at 2PM and check-out is at 12NN. The rates differ when you rent the Guesthouse for an event.
How to Book
Booking a stay at the Sta. Elena Guesthouse is fairly easy since you just have to email them at email@example.com. But my sister said it’s better to reach them via mobile at 0908-869-9603. Just be patient though because they don’t reply as fast.
You can also visit their website at https://www.staelena.com/guesthouse.php for more information.
The Sta. Elena Guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay if you want to quickly escape the busy Metro Manila scene. Relax, read a book, go for a swim or a walk – Sta. Elena is a delightful destination for moms, and even dads, who need to take a break and carve some self-care time.
The next time you want to experience a different kind of staycation, I suggest you check out the Sta. Elena Guesthouse.
