Happy hearts day people!
Today, I’m going to share with you how to make a DIY popsicle crate 🙂 I bought 2 packs of popsicle sticks originally for Owen’s activities at home but we never got to use them. So, I thought, I’ll just use them for myself and make some home decor with it.
For the materials, you will need the following:
Someone asked me if she can use hot glue instead of wood glue for this project. I said it’s okay but I highly recommend to use wood glue because it provides a cleaner finish and helps the popsicle sticks hold better together. I left mine unpainted but you can also spray paint or stain the DIY popsicle crate to make it match the color scheme you’re after. To see how you can make this, you can watch this video:
There are so many ways that you can use this popsicle crate. But because it’s hearts day today, you can use it as a rustic/shabby chic table centerpiece to setup a romantic mood for date night at home 🙂
For this centerpiece display, I added height to the DIY popsicle crate by using books. Then I placed flowers and a candle in the crate and added some string lights to brighten up the setup. I love how the light peeks through the popsicle crate because it definitely adds a romantic mood. Add also some tea lights to make it more warm and intimate.
What I also like about this project is that it’s not a “disposable” kind of DIY. This project is so versatile because you can also use the popsicle crate as organizers for your home and office. Use it to organize your remote controls, pens, or whatever little knick knacks. You can even use it as packaging for gifts and giveaways.
