A few weeks ago, I posted a photo on Instagram showing my DIY and easy macrame wall hanging decor for our home.
I didn’t expect it to have that much attention in my own social media circle because it’s usually just Owen’s photos that everyone looks at. But it got a few likes and a friend even asked me if he could buy one from me! I told him I’ll just teach him how to do it :p
So here it goes!
To make this easy macrame wall hanging, I used just plain Cotton Twine. You can also use a bulky-weight yarn or macrame cord. I bought mine from Shopwise’s hardware aisle. It was really cheap and you won’t even use the whole ball for this project. You will also need a stick. I initially used a bamboo stick when I first made this project. And then for the video, I used a 10-inch wooden banner pole that I bought from VCM Trading in Starmall, Alabang. It was just PhP28 but I think this would be cheaper in Divisoria.
You don’t need that much knowledge about macrame knots to make this project. I just used a lark’s head knot – which is used to secure the yarn on the stick – and a series of square knots to make the triangle pattern.
I really had a hard time describing how to do the square knot! Haha! But I hope you get the idea 🙂 I really love how this project turned out to be so pretty yet easy to do. If you made this project, please let me know by tagging me @mayarcenal on Instagram or Boppy Happy on Facebook 🙂
